I will stamp all over 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
